Position Available: HR Director Department: Human Resources Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 3rd 2013 at Noon PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION: The purpose of this classification is to manage and administer the day-to-day operations related to Human Resources, including managing personnel records, pay and classification, employment, recruitment, employee relations, and benefit programs. Employee in this classification develops (subject to county commission approval) and maintains personnel policies and procedures for the County and recommends and implements policies and procedures in accordance with statutory and professionally accepted standards. Reports to County Mayor. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, employment law, business management, or closely related field; supplemented by five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes progressively responsible human resources management, employment laws, labor relations, recruitment, job classification/compensation, worker’s compensation administration, employee health/safety, benefits administration, budget administration, and management/supervision; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Paramedic
Firefighter Position (Part-Time)
Department: WEMA Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to respond to calls for assistance in order to provide emergency medical care to persons that have suffered a medical illness or traumatic event and responding to fire/rescue emergency calls. The Paramedic should maintain current knowledge and skills in EMS material. Maintain a professional attitude at all times, have good public relation skills and ability to talk professionally to other health care providers. The Paramedic should act as a patient advocate, keeping the well-being of the patient the highest priority at all times. The Paramedic is the team leader of the ambulance crew and provides efficient and specialized advanced emergency medical care to the sick, injured and/or critically ill patients during all phases of an ambulance call. The Paramedic is responsible for ensuring the ambulance and its equipment is ready for a call at all times. Reports to Lieutenant, Captain, or Battalion Chief
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by completion of an
Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic training program and
completion of coursework in emergency vehicle operations and
extrication; Must have passed or pass written fire fighter
examination and basic firefighting course at State Fire School 1
year previous experience and/or training involving emergency
medical care and or fire prevention is preferred; or any equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience which provides
the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must
possess and maintain valid Emergency Medical Technician License
Paramedic License and Firefighter Certification in the state of
Tennessee. Must meet all the
requirements of the EMT-IV job description. Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) (preferred). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
(preferred). Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) or Pre-Hospital Trauma
Life Support (PHTLS) (preferred).
Must possess and maintain valid
Healthcare Provider Basis Life Support certification or equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license with
appropriate endorsement. Must be 21 years of age. Must be able to
pass yearly SCBA fit test and medical questionnaire including
possible psychological exam. Must be able to respond to emergency
situations during unscheduled work times. Duties and responsibilities include maintaining readiness for emergency response, responding to emergency calls, assessing condition of patients, providing basic life support at emergency scenes, transporting patients to medical facilities, driving ambulances, operating/utilizing/maintaining medical equipment, preparing charts and records, responding to fire, vehicle rescue, educating staff and public on fire safety/prevention. Reports to Lieutenant.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED;
supplemented by completion of an Emergency Medical Technician
training program and completion of coursework in emergency vehicle
operations and extrication; Must have completed or pass written fire
fighter examination and basic firefighting course at State Fire
School, Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy, or equivalent course work
from another state, 6 to 9 months previous experience and/or
training involving emergency medical care and or fire prevention is
preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and
experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and
abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain valid Emergency
Medical Technician – IV (Advanced EMT) License and Firefighter
Certification. Must possess and maintain valid Healthcare Provider
Basic Life Support certification or equivalent. By the 2nd
year anniversary as a full time employee you must have successfully
complete a TARS vehicle Extrication course (30 hours) and obtain
Tennessee Fire Commission Firefighter Level 1 Certification. By the
3rd year anniversary as a full time employee must
successfully complete the TFACA Driver/Operator Level 1 course (3
